Job Description

This multinational corporation is hiring a Data Privacy Counsel to be based in Singapore.  This key role will:

• Work closely with all teams in the APAC region to develop, maintain and monitor a compliance framework for data protection
• Be the main contact for the regulator authorities in the region
• Deliver internal training to colleagues to ensure data privacy protection of customers as well as employees
• Work closely with privacy and data security professionals to ensure compliance monitoring and audits are fulfilled
• Review allegations of data breaches
• Engage with industry associations and regulators in APAC regarding legislative developments and impact upon the Company's business 

To qualify, you should be:

Qualified as a lawyer in a common law jurisdiction with at least 8+ years PQE with in-house experience plus extensive data privacy experience and ideally IAPP/privacy certification.  Global and especially EU and APAC experience is necessary. Excellent English language communication together with team playing spirit is mandatory.
