Job Description

Our client, a global law firm with major operations across the Apac region, is hiring a Chief Operation Officer for their Shenzhen office. As well as being in charge of the daily administration and operations of the business, you will be managing the business support teams, as well as review and improve current operational and workflow processes. Overseeing approximately 20 staff, you will manage and support the office's business and administration support teams, including business development, marketing and IT. 

In addition you will: 

  • Implement, monitor and execute annual office administrative strategy
  • Be responsible for the annual operational budget, act as liaison with relevant departments implement and project manage targets
  • Facilitate in organizing Management team meetings and Partners’ meetings;
  • Organise and manage the office, external events, training activities, and support reception tasks (receiving visitors to the office);
  • Together with the national head office and other mainland domestic offices, coordinate the firm's annual conference, projects and events
  • Act as liaison with the Municipal/District Justice Bureau and local law society

Requirements

  • Degree holder in HR, Business Administration or Law (preference for overseas educated
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in office operations, HR management or administration at a law or professional services firm, with substantial management/oversight experience
  • Able to work under pressure and maintain professionalism at all times in a fast moving environment
  • Strong managerial, IT and organisational skills
  • First rate report writing skills, ability to present results and findings verbally clearly and succinctly 
  • Excellent work ethic and a positive attitude, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A 'can do' attitude, service oriented and highly organised
  • Highly fluent in English (written and spoken), whilst Cantonese language skills would be a bonus
  • Service oriented, organized, problem solving, attention to detail and team management experience required.
