Let me guess. You’re an established corporate M&A partner in Hong Kong at a reputable international or top tier domestic law firm. Your client following is both loyal and in abundance. You know that the relationships you have nurtured over time mean you will never run low on business. Even in tough times like these, your clients have stuck by you fiercely. Yet, something is missing from your career, right?
Maybe it’s the fact that the firm generally doesn’t value the client relationships that you have, or your client wins aren’t recognised or celebrated, or the firm has no commitment to invest and grow its local office. Maybe you’re finding other partners impeding your progress at your firm. Or you simply don’t have a voice on the direction of your firm?
Nothing feels better than to have a genuine collegiate culture in the office.
Our client is a major international law firm that’s consistently ranked among the industry for its people, first and foremost, its deals, its cases, and the relationships they have with their clients. As part of their ongoing commitment to grow their Asia operations, they are seeking a heavyweight corporate M&A/PE partner to join their Hong Kong office.
And this isn’t to just ‘slot in’ and add to the firm’s top line. Rather, there is a genuine desire to grow its Hong Kong office and replicate the successes in their core practice areas at home, because strategically, they see partners in the same practice areas and across different offices working on the same deals. Such is their commitment for growth, they are looking for a partner to head up this practice area and spearhead its growth and into the top echelons of dealmakers. Yes, you read that right, this is a Head of M&A partner role!
The candidate profile
In order to be considered, you must be a Hong Kong qualified solicitor specialising in private and public M&A transactions, ideally with a good track record of winning and executing PE deals. A strong, loyal client following is a must with a stellar track record on M&A deals, ideally with a mix of local and regional profiles. In return, our client can provide the autonomous support you need to nurture your existing and new client relationships to its fullest, as well as the backing to grow and maintain your team. Our client is seeking a corporate M&A dealmaker with a 'can-do' spirit, a natural ability to nurture their team’s future leaders, and someone who embraces a collegiate and friendly working culture. Strong Mandarin Chinese speakers are preferred.
