Job Description

When is a law firm start-up not a start-up?

When it's part of top 10 global ranked law firm in the world. And when you get that sort of backing, you can be sure that this firm will be making major waves in the Hong Kong legal market in next to no time.

With ambitious plans over the coming 3 years to become one of the leading mid-size full commercial service international law firms in Hong Kong, a superb opportunity has arisen for either an up-and-coming or well-established asset finance partner to join the already sizeable and collegiate Hong Kong office of this global firm. Working with your asset finance partners across the law firm's international offices and with the local based partners, this platform will enable the sum to operate greater than the parts and to tap into the firm’s global client base. A strong entrepreneurial and can-do and good natured spirit is highly apparent among its existing partners. This role also has the potential to be head of the finance team.

In order to be considered for this role, you will be a Hong Kong qualified solicitor, an established law firm partner or Counsel at an international law firm or reputable local law firm specialising in asset finance (general, shipping, aviation) with excellent credentials working in the greater China market and a strong intermediary and client network across the city and region. First rate business development and client relationship management skills and a high fluency in Mandarin Chinese are essential for this role, whilst fluency in Cantonese would be an added bonus. Senior counsels at a leading financial institution with a desire to continue their legal career back in private practice and with an exceptional business proposal could also be considered. Excellent leadership skills and an impressive history of building and maintaining successful teams are highly sought after qualities in the successful candidate.
