Job Description

Are you a senior litigation lawyer (counsel or partner level) interested to know more about a law firm that adopts the ‘New Law’ model and provides a highly attractive incentive structure, the ability to create your own client portfolio free from the major constraints seen in large firms, and with the freedom to create a truly personalised and customised service to your clients? Have you been frustrated that your ideas to develop revenue generation ideas or branching out from your existing narrow scope of practice area? Are you one of a rare breed of lawyer who can hustle for business and would love to be an integral part of building a law firm with the senior partner? Have you ever wanted to act as a quasi-General Counsel to your clients but simply have too many clients at your existing firm to give that level of service?

Then this could be the firm for you!

This highly entrepreneurial law firm with an association with a major PRC commercial law firm is seeking a Hong Kong qualified commercial litigation lawyer to join as a partner. In addition to having the freedom to develop your client portfolio, you would also be given support to nurture existing clients, with a recent increase in referrals in China related disputes (including white collar crime and regulatory disputes). A passion for business development, marketing and networking is an absolute must!

For candidates interested in the opportunity to develop this ingrained relationship, a high fluency in Mandarin Chinese is essential. For candidates who are largely self sufficient with their own sizeable book of business, a high level of fluency in English is a must. Candidates must be able to operate independently, be self-starters and have the ability to act with gravitas and maturity in front of clients and intermediaries. A client service-partner, this role is not. In return, this role can offer both significant financial rewards and tremendous personal satisfaction.

Lawyers with at least 8 years' PQE with major (ideally international) law firm background, a burgeoning client and intermediary list, and who fit the above requirements are welcome to apply.
