An opportunity has arisen for a senior-level legal secretary to join this firm's Hong Kong office


Job duties:

  • Managing the secretarial resource and work processes to ensure that fee earners have first class secretarial support at all times
  • Review of team member's performance and give support and motivation for their career development (including designing a training plan)
  • Regularly reviewing the legal support service levels with each Practice Manager
  • Managing the office's document production centre to ensure continuity of service levels across day and night shifts
  • Managing the interface between secretaries and the DPU (London, Delhi/New York), taking corrective action when required
  • Assisting in recruitment process for new secretaries
  • Organising (and delivering if required) tailored induction programmes for new secretarial staff
  • Ensuring that training needs are delivered in line with firm's policy and strategy
  • Addressing performance management issues by liaising with the Office Services Manager
  • Assisting in developing and reviewing a development and training plan for each secretary where applicable 



  • 12 years' work experience with at least 8 years in a major international law firm
  • Experience of managing a team of secretaries or support staff would be advantageous
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English is imperative
  • Meticulous, proactive and highly motivated team player
  • Able to build rapport with stakeholders
  • Immediate availability is preferred
