This major international law firm is hiring a junior to mid-level arbitration lawyer to join their dispute resolution team. Joining this firm will give a relatively junior lawyer a prime opportunity to gain excellent client facing and client relationship management experience on highly complex and large disputes, as many of the disputes are PRC derived.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of industries, from construction, projects, energy, and marine/transportation disputes. You will also have the opportunity to work on general commercial litigation matters. This role gives the successful candidate a fair degree of autonomy to work on their own files, and the encouragement to develop their client relationship management skills.
To qualify, candidates ideally should be Hong Kong qualified and currently serve as an arbitration Associate in an international law firm or top tier local law firm. A high fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese Mandarin are essential for this role, as are a strong academic track record and first rate experience of being involved in arbitration cases. As well as having the requisite technical ability to navigate through the arbitration procedural rules, the ability to break down complex legal questions and offer practical commercial legal advice, your communication, organisational and inter-personal skills must be second to none. As a confident, young lawyer, you should be able to juggle a multitude of tasks with ease and be able to work to tight deadlines.
